
American Airlines Restroom Renovation
As part of MIA’s Airport-wide Restroom Modernization initiative, MCI has proven a capable partner to support the airport’s massive capital improvement. The Public Restrooms Modernization Project includes the renovation of 203 public access restrooms located within the Terminal/Concourse levels 1, 2 and 3 with an approximate affected area of 91,829 square feet..
The scope of work for all phases will include interior demolition, new partition walls, new toilet partitions, new restroom finishes including flooring and wall tile, new vanity counter tops, new plumbing fixtures, new accessories, and new lighting fixtures. Life Safety, architectural, structural, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical engineering upgrades as warranted. Some spaces will be reconfigured to meet new construction codes.
Phase 1 (Concourse H Restrooms):
Eight public restrooms on the Concourse level, and two employee restrooms on the Ramp level.
Phase 2 (Public Restroom Modernization Project Year 1):
North Terminal (22 public restrooms)
Central Terminal (14 public restrooms)
South Terminal (16 public restrooms)
Phase 3 (Public Restroom Modernization Project Years 2-5):
141 public restrooms. Adult changing tables to be included in some restrooms.
